My english Blogging experience

This is my first time with this kind of "communication system" and it has been an interesting experience because you have to write about things you like and you share them with your classmates.
I usually don’t visit blogs, and it was really weird for me to have one.
It was interesting to write things you usually don’t write like your hobbies or your favorites things, and it was a very good exercise to write them in English, sometimes if you just talk in English you forget how to write things you said (I think am not good spelling in English) but it was one thing I miss, and it was that I don’t know if the posts I have written are good or not of so that’s one
As we know we are students from design and architecture, and we have similar ideas about composition, the shape of things and how do they work but we have different point of view of the same subjects.

The da Vinci Code

This is one of my favorite books, and i think that this one is the best of this author, Dan brown, because i have read all his books, Angels and Demons, Digital Fortress, and Deception Point.
Angels & Demons is related with The Da Vinci Code and it is good but isn't necessary to read one to understand the other.
One of the most interesting things of the book is that some times you don’t know what part is real and what part is fiction of the novel because we all know that Leonardo Da Vinci and his codes existed and all things related to him like the paintings and the sacred geometry of the divine proportion (phi= 1.618) so sometimes you hesitate and get lost with the plot of the book. I remember when I was reading the book sometimes i searched information on the internet about his pictures and analyzed them and the things related with the book to know if it was true what I was reading or not.
I recommend it of course it’s a lot better than the movie, so read it and then, if you want, watch it.

Braced Off

This is a nice British film (it was very difficult to understand the accent by the way) about the miners and all the fight between them and the people who wanted to close the coal mine because the government said that the British coal mining industry
wasn’t a profitable business.
The mine is their job to survive so without the job (the coal mine is closed) the only thing that finally kept them together is their musical band, the band that at the end is the best of the year, all this thanks to the courage of the father of one of the musician (the orchestra director) and they finally won the trophy, the dream of their orchestra director and of them as well.
In this drama you can really feel the suffering of the characters and understand the difficult times they are facing, fighting against the destiny, trying to save their families of the poorness. I liked it a lot and I recommend it.

my favorite Industrial Designer

I like cars a lot so i like to talk about car designers. One of my favorite car designers is Giovani Batista farina, known as Pininfarina, an Italian designer who create masterpieces like the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Spider Corsa, in 1932 and the well known Ferrari Testarossa in 1984. This designer created a company with his son Sergio and grandson Andrea and the company is successful. It has been employed by many automobile manufacturers like Ferrari, Maserati, Cadillac, Peugeot, Jaguar, Volvo, Alfa Romeo, MG, etc.
Actually the company has 3,562 employees working for them. This company is known all around the world and it has a very good reputation.
Other car designer is Giorgetto Giugiaro, another italian designer. We can see some of his designs every day in Santiago, cars like Daewoo Leganza, Fiat Punto, Fiat Uno, Seat Toledo, etc. He has masterpieces like Pininfarina as well. One of my favorite is the Maserati 4200 coupé, a car we don’t see usually but when you see it, you can understand that every single piece of the car is designed to give the car some special identity. It is a gorgeous car.
I want to design cars but it is very difficult to work for a car company, mostly if you aren’t from Europe or Asia.

learning english with BBC

It’s an interesting web site; it has a part to learn English reading and listening different stories. I saw a kind of serie, a romantic one, its name is “Fred and Betty: is this the end?” it is about a couple, Fred and Betty, and they have some kind of relashionship (don’t know if they are married or whatever).
In the story, they had a problem because it seems to be that he was cheating on her, there were eleven chapters of this serie but we couldn’t know the end of the story because isn’t in the website, not yet. Every they, the site add a new chapter, so you can visit the website every single day and practice English, (listening the pronunciation) and there is a part with the vocabulary of the story so you can practice your vocabulary as well. I think that it is a good idea to help people who want to learn English (like us) or practice it, for free!

Well i really haven’t a favorite web site, or if i have it, i don’t remember the link but there are some good websites i can recommend you to visit, some funny ones like http://www.locoarts.com/ this one is about some funny argentine cartoons, or http://www.teagames.com/ in this site you can find lots of flash games if you are little bored.
There was a web site i used to visit a lot, http://www.pandora.com/ because you could listen music and save different music stations but now you have to pay for it so i didn’t visit it again, but instead of that i use http://www.futuro.cl/, it is a rock radio website and you can listen radio on-line, so some times if am not at home and i have work to do, (for example if i am at university) i listen that radio. i think that the last site i mentioned, is the one i usually visit, but my life wouldn’t change drastically without it, because I can listen this rock music on the radio.

Victorycity is a point of view to solve the problem that humankind is having, the overpopulation.
Lots of people want to live in cities, and in countries like Japan, they haven’t enough room to live, so what can we do to solve that? We live in cities, because there we find everything we need every comfort we want but at the same time we interact with people, we have relationships and we have “freedom” to do what we want to do.

The project of victory city, in theory, was so rigid and people have to live like machines, eat in the same place, at the same time, work and live in the same building, use the lift with 50 persons at the same time, for me it looks like a flock of animals isn’t it.

If somebody wants to solve this problem, the team of engineers, architects, industrial designers, etc, when they design this city, they must think of the behavior of the people who will live there, and respect the way of living that people have, otherwise, it won’t work. In this case, there isn’t enough room to let the people live like if they where in a normal city, so maybe the idea is good but the design isn’t that good, for example actually there is a project in Japan to build a city inside a pyramidal structure (the name of the project is pyramid of Tokyo) and the idea is similar but the design is an amazing structure, 2 kilometers high and (to be continued...)
